Bio
Living Roots is a Livetronica duo that brings a healthy dose of musical medicine to
the stage. Travis plays with an array of flavors that feature worldly spices, sweet and
savory grooves, with crunchy beats that will nourish your soul and cleanse your
palate. With the addition of didgeridoo, drums and flutes, he blends together sounds
that are new and old, sacred and experimental, fiery and sultry. Logan brings a
beautiful and powerful voice to the equation, adding her own special flavor of soul,
gospel and medicine songs. With a background in Jazz and gospel choir, she has a
wide range of vocal magic, weaving her lyrics in harmony with the heart. The
combination of both of their vibes is a beautiful experience to witness. Every show
they play reflects the love they have for each other and the music, bringing the
crowd onto the spaceship with them. Time slows down and a doorway opens to
another dimension where listeners can bask in the wonder that is this existence.
They have been playing shows together since 2018, along the West Coast of the U.S.
Ghana, Morocco, South Africa, Egypt and Canada.
Besides making music, Travis and Logan Co-Own a medicinal herb farm called
Simply Sol Farm in Molalla, Oregon, about 45 minutes from Portland. They Bought
the property in 2020 and have been building community, connections and soil
alongside their musical journey. Finally, the two paths intersect as they build a stage
on their property and host events and gatherings. Much of their inspiration comes
from working with the land and they have been curating an EP series called ‘Plant
Medicine EP’. Each song is dedicated to a specific plant and they spend time with
each plant while they create the music, either by ingesting, burning or just observing
how the medicine wants to be heard. They are also diving into sound healing and
meditation music, calling the project ‘Sauna Sessions’. As you can guess, they start
each one of these songs in the Sauna, getting deep into the creative space, hitting
record and letting the music flow.
